This programme recognizes disciplined stillness, deliberate rest and the athletic courage required to do considerably less for a clearly defined period. Choose an event, establish a comfortable position and resist unnecessary productivity.

EVENT 01 / TEAM OBSERVATIONOPEN

SYNC

Synchronized Ceiling Staring

Coordinated ceiling observation conducted with formal team discipline.

Official brief

  1. Assemble two or more willing participants in a comfortable room.
  2. Select one ceiling and agree on a five-minute observation period.
  3. Begin together, remain quiet, and conclude at the appointed time with a single synchronized nod.

Judging criteria: timing, composure and the identification of one ceiling detail nobody had previously respected.

EVENT 02 / INDIVIDUAL ENDURANCEOPEN

26.2

26.2-Minute Marathon of Doing Absolutely Nothing

Complete 26.2 consecutive minutes of deliberate inactivity.

Official brief

  1. Choose a safe, comfortable place where you can remain undisturbed.
  2. Set a simple timer for 26 minutes and 12 seconds, then put it out of sight.
  3. Do not work, scroll, organize, optimize or turn the event into a self-improvement exercise.

Completion standard: breathing, blinking, changing position and attending to genuine needs do not count as activity.

  • Use a position and duration appropriate for your body, mobility, energy and circumstances.
