This is a small, independent side project. This page explains what information this site collects (currently very little) and what may change as the site grows.
coolsidequests.com does not require an account to use the site. The "mark done" quest tracker saves its history only in your own browser on your own device — it isn't sent anywhere or seen by anyone else. A shared, anonymous count of total quests completed site-wide is stored on our server, but it has no way of knowing who completed anything — just that something was checked off.
If you sign up to be notified when the leaderboard feature launches, we store your email address for that one purpose — to email you when it's ready. We don't use it for anything else, don't share it with third parties, and don't add you to any other mailing list. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing us (see Contact below).
This site may use basic, privacy-friendly analytics (for example, to see how many people visit and which pages are popular) so we can make the site better. This does not identify you personally.
This site shows ads through Google AdSense to help cover the cost of running it:
If a future version of this site lets you submit your own quests, photos, or comments, only submit what you're comfortable being public. Don't include your full name, school, address, or other identifying details in anything you post.
This site is designed with a teen audience in mind. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and have concerns about anything on this site, please reach out using the contact info below.
If what this site collects or how it makes money changes (like turning on ads), this page will be updated first, with a new "last updated" date at the top.
