CoolSideQuests started one evening in July 2026. My daughter came downstairs and asked if I'd ever heard of side quests.

I hadn't.

She told me what they were and asked if I could make a website that gave people things to actually go out and do.

So I did.

It started as a fairly simple list of activities. Since then, it has gotten a little out of hand.

And what's a side quest?

If you play video games, you already know.

A side quest is something you do outside the main story. We just took that idea and applied it to real life.

Maybe you've got twenty minutes to kill. Maybe you and your friends have an entire Saturday and no idea what to do. Pick something and go do it.

Some quests take five minutes. Some could take all day. Some are admittedly ridiculous.

That's sort of the point.

who's behind it

We're a dad and daughter in Canada.

It was her idea, and she handles the TikTok side of things. I build the website and handle Pinterest, mostly because I've never even looked at TikTok.

She also tells me when something I build is terrible.

This happens more often than I'd like to admit.

what makes it different

There are currently 200 side quests on the site, with more being added as we think of them.

You can browse them, pick one at random, find something you can do right now, or disappear down one of the increasingly strange rabbit holes we've built into the site.
